Ground School

EAA Chapter 376 ground school is a classroom-style instruction open to pilots or aviation enthusiasts that prepares you for the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test. It covers the core knowledge every pilot needs before or alongside flight training. This course is offered free of charge to Chapter 376 members.

The course covers everything required for your Private Pilot Certificate, including airspace, weather, navigation, regulations, and aircraft systems. Upon completion, you'll be eligible for an instructor endorsement to take the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test.

There is no minimum age to attend ground school- all are welcome to learn!
For certification, in terms of piloting, the FAA requires students to be:
Minimum 16 years old to solo
Minimum 17 years old to earn a Private Pilot Certificate
